Oakedge Shooting Ground provides the perfect setting for a friendly and relaxed simulated driven day. With its deep valleys and glorious scenery, it lends itself to some spectacular drives. From high-speed driven grouse, and flighty partridge, to some very challenging pheasants.
What can I expect from a simulated day?
Participants generally arrive around 9-9.30am, to be greeted with a bacon or sausage roll, and hot tea and coffee (or a cold drink in the warmer months). At 9.45am, you'll receive a run down of the day, including an explanation of the drives in use, the allocation of your shoot host, and a safety briefing. The day is based on four drives, each consisting of 100 clays per team of shooters. Teams shoot in rotation. Generally we work with teams of four guns, but we can cater for solo shooters, who will be allocated a team.
After two drives, we break for tea, coffee and nibbles - an opportunity to have a chat with your fellow guns and, in the winter months, a welcome warm in front of the log burner! We then head out for the final two drives, before returning for a two-course shoot lunch in the lodge. This gives everyone a chance to discuss the morning's experiences - over a drink or two.
We advise that you bring at least 250 cartridges (although cartridges can be purchased from us), and asbestos hands as your barrels will be smoking! Fibre or plastic wads are acceptable.
Cost for the day is £110 per person.
We hold simulated days regularly - check out our events calendar for current dates.
